Join Denver Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Butterfly Pavilion's Urban Prairies Project for an introductory training to stewarding open space in Denver Parks. If you are a current Open Space Steward or are interested in becoming one, this training is for you! No experience necessary. Training topics: - Open Space Restoration and Community Wellness - Open Space Ecosystems - Restoration 101 - what is ecological restoration and overview of restoration activities - Community education, engagement and leadership - Further opportunities | Urban Prairies Project Training Modus Operandi | UPP not only encourages participants from all worlds regardless of experience and background, but understands that volunteers and leaders with varied passion and expertise are essential for the success of the program and the sustainability of open space health. Allotted topic timeframes are general and flexible according to interest and engagement from participants. UPP encourages storytelling and expressions of knowledge directly from attendees and partner organizations, and allotted timeframes aim to facilitate this to the best of our ability. UPP trainings formally begin 5 minutes after established start time to facilitate comfortable involvement from later arrivals.
