Wildlife Management Project - Adult Programs
Thank you for signing up for Lights Out Denver Monitoring! Denver Parks and Recreation's Wildlife Management team coordinates bird collision monitoring during the spring and fall bird migration each year. Your volunteer efforts will help record injured or deceased birds in the City and County of Denver during these migratory periods. Our monitoring season runs from April 6 through May 31 and there are two ways to volunteer this spring season. No matter which way you choose to volunteer we ask that you review the training video below. Please copy and past the link below into your browser. https://ccd.box.com/s/4r7ewxmii4trm5u42c71tc05bo2a10ex Please sign up for a volunteer shift each time that you decide to monitor. This will help us keep track of all of our volunteers efforts. Now, as a reminder, here are the two ways to volunteer. 1. Monitor our downtown route for bird collisions. Review the training video for details. Please see the attachment section of the volunteer event to pull up a map of the downtown route. 2. The second way to volunteer is to monitor for bird collisions in your own yard, neighborhood, or which ever park and city area you frequent. We ask you to please monitor your own property or public property that you are allowed to access. This monitoring option is just like the first option - you will watch the same training video, use the same data recording survey, and sign up for your monitoring shift on the appropriate day using GoDenverParks. Of course, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to the contact listed on the event. Here is a link to the Lights Out Denver Monitoring Survey which you are required to use each time you monitor. Please copy and paste the link into your browser https://arcg.is/1X8nLH
