Super Steward
- Description:
Super Stewards are experienced, highly engaged volunteers who take on additional leadership responsibilities to support events, programs, and fellow volunteers. They act as on-the-ground leaders, helping ensure activities run smoothly, safely, and in alignment with our mission. Super Stewards are ambassadors of our values and play a critical role in creating a welcoming, organized, and impactful volunteer experience.
- Expectations:
Leadership & Support
- Serve as a point person for volunteers during events or activities
- Welcome, orient, and support volunteers on-site
- Model positive behavior, teamwork, and stewardship
- Help answer questions and troubleshoot basic issues
Event & Activity Coordination
- Assist with event setup, breakdown, and logistics
- Help track attendance and ensure volunteers are assigned to tasks
- Ensure everyone has filled out their liability waivers and those are turned in to DPR staff
- Support safety guidelines and proper use of tools or materials
- Communicate real-time needs or concerns to staff
Stewardship & Mentorship
- Mentor new or returning volunteers
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and morale
- Help foster an inclusive, respectful, and fun environment
- Share feedback and observations with staff after activities
Communication & Representation
- Act as an ambassador for the program and organization
- Communicate clearly with volunteers, staff, and partners
- Uphold program policies and community standards
- Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a volunteer with our program (or similar experience)
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and initiative
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable guiding groups and providing peer leadership
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and solution-oriented
- Alignment with our mission and values

- Time Commitment:
- Minimum commitment of 2 hours per month between April and October
- Additional training and check-ins as required
