Denver Parks & Recreation’s Alternative Sports program introduces youth and adults to exciting, non-traditional recreational activities like skateboarding, snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, and more. These experiences promote outdoor adventure, physical activity, and community connection in a fresh and modern way.

Each year, our team relies on dedicated volunteers to help make it all happen—especially during our biggest seasonal project: building and maintaining a community ski/snowboard terrain park! This collaborative effort helps bring a unique and accessible winter recreation experience to Denver residents.

Youth Sports

Are you passionate about sports and shaping young lives? Denver Parks & Recreation is looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Youth Coaches to help guide our recreational sports leagues. Coaches are needed for basketball, flag football, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, and t-ball, working with kids aged 5 to 14.

As a coach, you’ll help youth participants learn fundamental skills, develop teamwork, and build confidence on and off the field. If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back and HAVE FUN while doing it, this is your chance!
